Black Sheep Surfing
Livin' life a little differently,
by Rick Boufford

-THIS SITE IS ALWAYS UNDER CONSTRUCTION-

In the mean time...having been in the restaurant biz for over 25 years,
I've received more than my fair share of press, here's what one writer had to say:

 Rick Boufford is one of the most independent and idiosyncratic Orange County chefs...
Of course, anyone familiar with Boufford can expect the menu to reflect his sense of fun and whimsy.

I Welcome you. The restaurant site got too big so this is my personal site where I plan to reflect the sense of fun and whimsy I am fortunate to have in my "other" life. Here I will be sharing the silly and serious of; cooking, surfing, fencing, friends, family, projects for dad's & sons , surf geeks & more...I hope you enjoy!

My nephew Cory, 13, makes a Piapo Board from scratch. Here's how;

Dustin makes an 8' 3" board from balsa and redwood! Outstanding!

Below are some surf buddies...

Dustin Clifford surfing at 48th Street, Newport Beach California, Spring '05

And J.J. Smith at 44th Street, Newport Beach California in May '05

And here's Robbi "Ross" Huttenhoff cutting it up in Tahiti in Summer '06

C'est Moi !

Me ? First- All who know me know that I like to do things a little different, so when I decided to get back into the water in June of 2004, (and Second - I considered my ; age, wife, responsibilities and the fact I can't bend down as low as fast as I used to) I looked into a method where I could still get everything from surfing without the greater risks of making myself an invalid or my wife a widow. I decided to make and use Paipo Boards like the Hawaiians used long ago.
More on this later!

Going Prone, it's always overhead!

Then there's the staff fencing class, May '05...
